New CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers were sworn in at a ceremony in Kent County Circuit Court on December 10, 2015. CASA supervisory staff joined the newest CASA volunteers in the Kent County Circuit Courthouse as they took an oath promising to advocate for the best interest of children under court protection because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The Honorable Paul Bowman presided over the Swearing-In Ceremony in the Kent County Circuit Court. In his welcome remarks to the new Court Appointed Special Advocates, Judge Bowman shared a quote by Margaret Mead “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

CASA Executive Director Robin Davenport thanked Judge Bowman for his strong support for the organization and for valuing the work of a CASA volunteers.  Davenport also acknowledged and thanked the Kent County Commissioners for supporting the program and the Kent County Department of Social Services for their continued partnership.
